Enrolment

Our school can help with enrolment queries throughout the year.

Local enrolment area

Most schools have designated local enrolment areas. The School Finder shows our local enrolment area. Note: local enrolment areas are subject to change.

How to enrol

Contact us when you’re ready to enrol your child in our school. You may need to attend an interview with the principal. There you can discuss any medical conditions or other special circumstances before your child starts school. We may also complete a risk assessment on the enrolment.

For more information, visit high school enrolment.

Download an application to enrol (PDF 5.9MB).

The application form must be completed in English. However, a translated application to enrol may help you to fill out the form in English.

Non-local enrolments

As outlined in the department’s enrolment policy, our school may accept enrolments from outside our local enrolment area if places are available.

We will assess applications for non-local enrolment on a case-by-case basis.

Enrolment process

Students who wish to enrol throughout the year must first ring or visit the school for an appoinment for an enrolment interview. At this time, you will be given an enrolment package that must be completed and brought with you on the day of the interview.

At the interview:

You will speak with the Year Adviser who will ask you questions about your previous school, your interests and the subjects you wish to choose. You must also supply your birth certificate or passport, your Medicare card and a proof of address.

After the interview:

You will be notified by the Head Teacher Welfare if your application has been successful and given a date to start at your new school.

Students with learning difficulties or special needs

Please contact your local regional office by phoning 131 536. Depending on your location and your child's needs, you may have access to regular classes in regular schools, support classes in regular schools or a school with specific support services. The student support team at your local regional office will arrange for initial assessment of your child and review by the placement panel in the first instance.

Temporary visas and international students

For information about eligibility and forms to complete, visit the Temporary Residents Program.

Distance education

Distance education is an equity program for students who are geographically isolated or whose individual circumstances prevent them from regularly attending school. Students must meet one of the conditions in the Distance Education Enrolment Procedures to be eligible to access this program as a full-time student.

Distance education schools also provide single subjects for students in Years 9 to 12 to enhance curriculum choice. Please contact us for details.
