Accessing a support class
If you would like your child to be considered for an Inclusion Class placement, Chifley College Mount Druitt Campus can assist you with the process. Contact us and we will work with you to determine the best educational support for your child’s needs.
The school will collaborate with you to assess your child’s eligibility and identify whether a support class placement is the most appropriate option.
Support class placement may be considered when:
- Your child has significant support needs and meets the Department of Education’s disability criteria
- Specialist support is required to meet your child’s educational needs
- An application, known as an Access Request, is completed in partnership with you, usually coordinated by the school’s Learning and Support Team
- A local support class placement panel reviews the application and makes a final decision
To assist with school selection, families can use the School Locator tool to explore both mainstream and specialist schools that offer support classes.
