Year 7
Music is a mandatory course in Year 7.
Students will experience the Concepts of Music through the learning experiences of performing, composing and listening while studying a range of styles, periods and genres.
Year 9 and Year 10
Students can elect to study Music in Year 9 and Year 10. Here they develop their performance, composition and musicology skills. Students will perform in a range of styles from Mozart to Elvis.
Elective music also teaches student to write their own songs and perform them throughout the year. Some topics studied are:
- rock music
- film music
- theatre music
- classical music
- music for radio and television.
