The aim of the Teaching and Learning faculty is to provide a variety of targeted support programs that will assist students in their learning and teachers in their understanding of the needs of their students.
The teachers attempt to provide directed assistance with both literacy and numeracy and develop the students' ability to take responsibility of their own learning.
The main role of the Teaching and Learning faculty is running levelled literacy and numeracy groups that extend the skills of all students, through intensive support in small-group settings. Additionally, Ms Alderman, our English as an additional language or dialect (EAL/D) teacher, runs a range of groups of students from language backgrounds other than English, as well as a number of outreach programs for refugee students.
The Teaching and Learning faculty staffroom is located in Dawson Block and students can visit at any time before school, recess, lunch or even after school if they need to.
