Chifley College Mt Druitt offers our students Science from years 7-10. It explores evidence and investigates ways to discover, develop and produce solutions to real-world problems.
Science emphasises the skills for working scientifically, as well as critical and creative thinking to address scientific issues.
Faculty information
The Science faculty aims to provide students with as diverse a curriculum as possible. Students explore the role of science within our society and how science interacts with and touches on our everyday lives.
In Year 7 to Year 10 Science is taught in a practical, hands-on approach. Students in Year 9 and Year 10 also have the opportunity to choose Agriculture as an elective subject.
Science Faculty has adapted a renewed national focus on STEM in school education to ensure that our young Australians in year 7s are equipped with necessary STEM skills and knowledge.
The new Australian Curriculum has been implemented for Year 7 to Year 10. Some uses for Science during our day to day living are as follows:

- develop new technology
- ensure our world is more safer
- improve the health and living conditions of society
- educate humans to to wisely use resources
- provide protection and help conserve the environment.
